Chaga is actually the Russian name for Fungus. The product dates back to before the 16th century. The Chaga Mushroom is not really a mushroom, but more like a fruiting body, a hard ball of mycelium, it is the organism behind a mushroom. It is a highly concentrated black mass that protrudes from infected Birch Trees. The Chaga Mushroom is not classified as a plant or animal, yet the DNA composition is 30% more human than plant. It needs to be harvested when the weather is cold, and the tree is dormant for the winter, and harvested from live trees deeper in the forest, away from Urban areas. An experienced harvester will leave 15 to 20% of the Chaga Mushroom on the tree so as to sustain the tree. Cutting too much off, or cutting off a Burl by mistake, will kill the tree. The Canadian Birch trees are rich in Betulinic Acid, which has been used to shrink some types of Cancerous tumors. The Chaga will then be dried, and crushed into a coarse powder to be used as a tea. It takes 800 pounds of raw Chaga to make 300 pounds of dried powder. Chaga contains wild source minerals with a high amount in copper, calcium, potassium, manganese, zinc, and iron.
